The Alpha Course
The Alpha is a multi-week online or in-person course that creates a space where people come and discuss life’s big questions.
What is Alpha?
We believe that everyone should have the chance to explore faith, ask questions and share their point of view. Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith. Each talk looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation. Alpha is run all around the world and everyone’s welcome. No two Alpha’s look the same, but generally they have three key things in common: hospitality, a talk and good discussion.
What does an Alpha session look like?

There are three parts to an Alpha course session. All sessions start with a time to connect, relax and build friendships. This is followed by a talk designed to engage and inspire conversation.
Each talk is around thirty minutes long and explores the big issues around faith and unpack the basics of Christianity, addressing questions such as Who is Jesus?, How does God guide us? and Why and how do I pray?
The third part are the discussions times. One of the most important parts of any Alpha course is the chance to share thoughts and ideas on the topic. There’s no obligation to say anything and there’s nothing you can’t say (seriously). It’s an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment.
